Treatment Sessions

A new client initial assessment will last approximately 45 minutes and will involve a subjective examination which will include a detailed history about the presenting problem, past medical history, personal information such as job, hobbies etc and any current mediations.  It is sometimes advisable to bring a list of any medical conditions and medications with you.  This is normally followed by a thorough objective examination which looks at the problem area and may include specific tests of this region.  An agreed treatment plan is then devised which also may include some advice and exercises to be carried out at home.  Follow up appointments will normally last around 30 minutes which involves a short assessment at the beginning of the session to establish any progress or changes in the condition followed by treatment if appropriate.  Course of treatments varies from client to client and depending on the presenting condition, but on average can last between 6 to 8 sessions.

It is advisable to either wear or bring loose fitting clothes for all sessions and under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

A patient registration and consent form will be provided at the initial appointment, therefore it is advisable to give yourself an extra 10 minutes before your appointment to complete these and to thoroughly read the form before signing it.  Any questions that arise can be discussed prior to the assessment.

Please note there is a 24 hour notice period required for any cancellations of appointments. Any failed to attend appointments may be charged.
